A former military head of state, General Yakubu Gowon, is confident that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Trust Fund bill would be attended to.

Gowon, while speaking Friday in Abuja when the director-general of the NYSC, Brigadier-General Yushau Ahmed led some directors, staff and corps members on a visit to celebrate his 89th birthday, urged the scheme to be hopeful of the success of the bill and as well, keep the NYSC flag flying with special innovations.

In a statement signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, Gowon further charged the corps members to continue to be disciplined, loyal and patriotic in their service to the country.

Earlier, the director-general of the scheme, Brigadier-General Ahmed, congratulated the former head of state who turned 89 years.

He prayed God to further bless him with more years as the scheme was still benefitting from his wealth of knowledge.
