A Civil Society Organisation (CSO), Abuja Grassroots Advocacy Project (AGAP), has thrown its weight behind the establishment of a trust fund for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

AGAP noted that the fund would complement the federal government’s effort in moving over 100 million Nigerians out of poverty.

Speaking at a symposium organised by NYSC on the “Imperatives for the Establishment of a Trust Fund for Corps Members” in Abuja, the Chief Advocate of AGAP, Comrade Yunusa Ahmadu Yusuf, commended the scheme for the idea of the trust fund and called on stakeholders to support the move.

Comrade Yusuf said the fund would empower the scheme to effectively confront the economic challenges of the 21st Century.
