The Osun State High Court, Osogbo, on Monday, denied bail for the founder of Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu (OAI), Rahmon Adedoyin and other accused persons standing trial over the murder of a student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke. 

 Adedoyin and six of his workers were arrested, detained and arraigned in court for allegedly killing Adegoke when the deceased lodged at a hotel, Hilton Hotel and Resort, owned by Adedoyin.

They are facing trial on 11-count charges bordering on murder, conspiracy and felony amongst others.

 They were remanded in court last week Thursday by Justice Adepele Ojo after their arraignment. 

 Other accused persons include Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem, Adebayo Kunle and Adedeji Adesola. 

 Their counsels, Adekunle Adegoke and K. K. Eleja (SAN) urged the court to grant them bail but the prosecutor, M. O. Omosun, objected to the bail application. 

 Justice Adepele-Ojo in her ruling on Monday refused to grant bail for the accused persons. 

 The judge said the case was very sensitive and promised that the matter would be given an accelerated hearing.
