Speaking shortly after his installation as the new Onikajola of Kajola, Oba Akinyemi said his priority would be to improve the socio-economic status of the town located along Osogbo-Ilesa road.
He said with his installation as the paramount ruler of Kajola, he would ensure that investors trooped to the sleepy agrarian community in a bid to develop it.
Oba Akinyemi, who described his coronation by the people of the town as a confirmation of his acceptance by all citizens and residents of the town, assured that he would use his office to reconcile all the other contestants to the stool.
While calling for a hand of fellowship from fellow contestants, Oba Akinyemi counselled that the overall interest of the community should be put above personal interest. Also speaking, Chief Abraham Itamakinwa, the Sapaye of Kajola, described the installation of Oba Akinyemi as the best thing to happen to the community.
He then called on the state governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and relevant authorities in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to commence the process of presentation of staff of office to the new king. Another prominent Kajola Chief, Michael Ojo counselled Oba Akinyemi to see himself as father to all indigenes of Kajola at home and in the Diaspora, in a bid to develop the community.
Recalling that the race to the stool led to the loss of a life, Chief Ojo said the choice of Oba Akinyemi was unanimous and received the blessing of all members of the community.
The leader of Apara Community, a neighbouring town to Kajola, Chief Olalekan Apara, described Kajola as a peaceful community which deserved a level headed monarch like Oba Akinyemi. He further assured the cooperation of the entire people of Apara to the reign of Oba Akinyemi.
