Uneasy calm  is hovering around  Obadore community Lagos over chieftaincy tussle between rival groups in the area.

Following the heightened  tension, some of the residents of the community in Alimosho council area of Lagos State are appealing to the state governor, Akinmunmi Ambode and the police commissioner, Ihomini  Edgal, to quickly address the issue  before it resulted into breaking law and order.

It was gathered that following a pending appeal at the Federal Court of Appeal in Lagos which restrained the Baale of Obadore, Lateef Ololade Mohammed Agemo from parading himself as the traditional ruler of the community;  conferment of chieftaincy titles as well as performing any traditional rites until the final determination of the case, Agemo has not only defaulted on all the orders,  he has gone ahead to embark on illegal sales of parcels of land belonging to individuals and the community.

The Appeal court suit number: Appeal No/Call/1183/15 in Suit No. ID/327/GCM/2014, filed by Hon. Prince Ismaila Nojeem Ayorofamily of Obadore was against the Baale in a suit filed in 2014.

Trouble started when the Baale of the community, Ololade Agemo, in complete disregard to the court order is said to be planning to confer titles on some persons; a move that has not gone down well with some members of the community, religious, traditional and cultural leaders including residents. 

Meanwhile, Baale’s spokesperson, Prince Akuru has said that the Baale has not done any wrong or breached any court order adding that there have been no court order restraining Baale Agemo from carry out his duties.
