A strong supporter of Peter Obi, Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the 2023 elections, has claimed that Obidients in the United Kingdom voted for Labour Party because of the Nigerian politician.
Daily Trust reports that Labour Party swept to power in a landslide victory after more than a decade in opposition.
Reacting to this in a tweet, on Friday, Obi’s supporter who tweets via @firstladyship, wrote: “Obidients in the United Kingdom gave the Labour Party their maximum votes. Peter Obi called, & Obidients in the UK answered. That is how you flex your muscle on the world stage. Rishi Sunak is foreclosed!”

Her comment elicited some responses online. Below are some:
I am obidient, but the truth is that the UK Labour party would have won regardless of Obi’s influence. Infact it didn’t matter at all

Never ever joke with Nigerians whether home or abroad. It is only safe to join the winning side of Nigeria

“Labour party triumphs in UK election, marks bew era for Britain”.
The influence of one man in Africa has rubbed off on people in Europe, imagine voting a party you don’t even know who is running just because of the love for Obi😂

The election result symbolizes a remarkable change in the historic political revolution of Britain.
Meanwhile, Labour leader, Keir Starmer, who is the incoming prime minister, has thanked the electorate.
In an early morning speech in Central London, he had said, “We did it! You voted for it, and now it has arrived. Change begins now. You have changed Britain. A weight has been lifted, a burden finally removed from the shoulders of this great nation, and now we can look forward again.”
