The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has endorsed the appointment of Onuegbu Obiora, as the Acting Director General, National Commission for Museums and Monuments.
Obiora took over from Usman Abdallah, who completed his two terms of four years on October 27.
Until his appointment, Obiora was the most senior director in at the agency. Obiora is a native of Adazi-elu in Anaocha, Anambra State. He holds a B.Sc. in Political and Administrative Studies from the University of Maiduguri. He also obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree in 1992/93 from University of Lagos, and was called to the Bar (BL) in 1995. He had a wide range of working experience in the private sector before he joined the service of NCMM in 1983.
He rose to the position of Director, Administration and Supplies in November 2013, a position he held until his appointment as the Acting Director General, National Commission for Museums and Monuments, on November 28, 2017.
