“My boys played well. I am impressed at the standard of play. It was one of the best friendly games we have played so far,’’ Obuh told newsmen after the match.

“The match was organised at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, to help the national team in their preparations for international engagements.

“We still have outstanding friendly matches to play in Ibadan and Kano to be in shape for any international competition,’’ he said

Emeka Nwobodo, Assistant Coach of FC Internazionale, said the match had proved that Enugu still had good talented young players.

“We will now go back and plan very well how to use these boys. It’s really an impressive outing,’’ Nwobodo said.

Francis Yawe, President of Internazionale and sponsor of the match, said he was happy that both teams displayed good football skills.

“My intention in sponsoring the club is to divert the attention of youths in Enugu from anti-social activities and engage them in meaningful developmental projects.

“I also want them to discover and project their talents at different categories of the national team,’’ Yawe said.

FC Internazionale opened scoring in the 53rd minute through Ebele Okoro.

The Flying Eagles equalised through Bright Ejike in the 65th minute and had their winner in the 78th minute. (NAN)
