Speaking to Feverpitch yesterday ahead of the team’s last group match played in the early hours of today; former international Aniete Ukoh said the central defence is completely weak and should be reorganized without delay.

He expressed shock that despite their height advantage, the duo of Ganiu Ogungbe and Kenneth Omeruo have continually failed to deal with aerial balls.

According to him, if something is not done about the central defence, more experienced teams would make nonsense of the team.

“What I am saying now is what I noticed about the team long ago. The two central defenders are tall but they are not making good use of their height. It is surprising that they are finding it hard to deal with aerial balls.

“Obuh will have to do something quickly about the defence, if he wants to win. I suggest he brings in a more experienced player like Terna Suswam to the heart of the defence. It is risky leaving these guys to continue in their present positions”, he advised.
