#OccupyLekkiTollGate: Drama As Officials Are Forced To Push Van Conveying Arrested Protesters

There was a mild drama at the Lekki tollgate axis of Lagos State on Saturday when a van conveying arrested #OccupyLekkiTollGate protesters refused to start.

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command had stormed the protest venue and arrested several protesters including Mr Macaroni, a Nigerian comedian.

Those arrested were thereafter whisked into a police van stationed at the protest ground.

But drama started when the van refused to start when security operatives were to convey them to the police station.

Officials of the Lekki Concession Company (LCC) were forced to push the van which still malfunctioned.

The arrested persons were moved into another vehicle.

Saturday’s protest comes after the judicial panel constituted by the Lagos state government to probe police brutality and human rights abuses approved the reopening of the tollgate which has been shut since #EndSARS protesters were forcefully dispersed by soldiers on October 20, 2020.
