OCP Africa, a leading supplier of phosphate-based fertilisers, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bauchi State Government on four areas to support the state’s agriculture.

The MoU was signed by the Country Manager,  OCP Africa Fertilisers Nigeria, Caleb Usoh and the Bauchi State’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Rural Development, Pharmacist Samaila Adamu Burga, Friday in Abuja.

The state commissioner of agriculture, pharmacist Burga said the MoU will allow the state to reach remote farming commodities with inputs, develop crops of comparative advantage and know the nutrients requirement of the various soil in the state in order to develop the appropriate soil-specific fertiliser.

He said the agreement will take Bauchi state to the highest level of Agricultural development adding that the state government was according agriculture high priority.

OCP Country Manager, Caleb Usoh said the four complementary areas of the collaboration include development of inputs distribution through the OCP One Stop Shop; implementation of soil testing solutions; implementation of the Agribooster project in the state and; collaboration with the state university on areas of  training and empowering the youths.
