A 82 year old woman and mother of a business man and owner of Shema Petroleum filling stations has been reportedly abducted by gun men this morning.
Hajiya Diya was abducted in her matrimonial home at Bayan Area of Dutsinma town in Katsina.
Sources say the abductors numbering five attacked the said residence at about 1.30 am armed with guns beat up residence before whisking her away on motorcycle.
Her husband, Alhaji Abdullahi was injured and later taking to the hospital just as a neighbour Usman Barkiya was shot twice as he tried to help out during the attack.
"As the abductors were taking her away, the motorcycle broke down in front of Barkiya’s house and he tried to intervene, they shot him twice, in the stomach and hand, he is presently at the General Hospital’ the source added.
It was gathered that her son, the owner of Shema Petroleum stations across the country, Nagogo Mammam Nagarhi had visited her a day before the incidence just as during the abduction the gunmen were demanding for money informing the residence of his visit.
Confirming the incidence, Katsina state police command spokesman DSP Gambo Isah said the woman has indeed been abducted and already the police has swing into action over the unfortunate incidence.
