If one felt that Odili’s wife (a Justice of the Appeal Court) was responsible for availing and indulging her husband with loopholes with which Peter Odili was able to secure a perpetual injunction in a matter that is very clear on crimes he committed, what would you say of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan whose cousin, James Onanefe Ibori, aided to transfer his case from Kaduna to Asaba where a readied judge was on hand to grant an injunction on a clear case of corruption against the former governor.

In the front page of News Star newspaper dated Monday 12–Tuesday 13 April, 2010, it was reported that Chief Gabriel Igbinedion had taken delivery of a US$48million private jet which was received by him, his two sons including former Governor Lucky Igbinedion who had a plea-bargain for the corruption charges levelled against him by the EFCC. He has not even met the conditions for the plea-bargain he entered into.

We have former governors Orji Uzor Kalu (even planning to run with IBB as Vice), Nnamani, Turaki and others having their cases delayed by the judiciary. This action portrays the judiciary as an abater of a corrupt society.  

I feel the judiciary should bury its head in shame, so also for those corrupt former government officials (elected or appointed). Some sitting governors, definitely out of office, would account for their corrupt practices. Those of them who are in the habit of arranging for awards and taking full page pictorials and television advertisements propagating such should stop nauseating the masses.
