Ogun APC Group Backs Tinubu, Abiodun, Isiaka for 2027

A political pressure group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogun State, The Believe Network, has thrown its weight behind President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027, endorsed Governor Dapo Abiodun for the Ogun East senatorial seat, and declared total support for the governorship ambition of a member of the House of Representatives, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI).

The endorsements formed the high point of resolutions adopted at the end of the group’s sensitization programme held Monday in the Ogun East Senatorial District.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the group said its support for Isiaka, popularly known as GNI, was rooted in long-standing conviction about his leadership capacity and alignment with its founding ideals.

The communiqué was signed by Engr. Femi Adebanjo, Prince Adegboyega Adesanya, Alhaja Yetunde Oyemala and Otunba Afolabi Akinwunmi.

“The Believe Network, Ogun East is a values-driven political group that unites citizens of diverse backgrounds by shared principles, conviction, and commitment to community advancement and responsible public leadership,” the communiqué stated.

The group said it had been aligned with Isiaka’s political philosophy since October 2017 when he launched The Believe Movement on the principle that governance must be “honest, purposeful, and accountable to the people.”

Declaring its unanimous support for Isiaka’s 2027 governorship bid, the Network described him as “the common denominator in Ogun State’s political equation” and said he possesses “a granular understanding” of communities across the state, earned through years of engagement.

“The case for GNI as the next Governor of Ogun State is built on a record of engagement with this state that is parallel to none among those who seek to lead it,” the group said, adding that he is “tested in a way that matters, by both the electorate and the machinery of governance itself.”

On national politics, the group endorsed President Tinubu for re-election, citing what it described as bold economic reforms since May 2023, including fuel subsidy removal and foreign exchange unification.

“We endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office in 2027,” the communiqué stated. “The reforms he has set in motion are at the stage where the question is whether they will be seen through. Continuity of leadership is the only credible answer to that question.”

The group also commended Governor Abiodun’s administration, particularly infrastructure development across Ogun East and the ongoing Gateway International Airport project in Iperu, which it described as a transformative economic milestone for the state.

It subsequently endorsed Abiodun’s senatorial aspiration in 2027 under the APC, stating that “Ogun East will be well represented in his hands.”

The group further called on its members and supporters to register and revalidate their membership of the APC during the ongoing March 2026 registration window, stressing that “the duty of mobilization rests with each of us.”

Speaking on behalf of the group, the signatories said members were “resolute that GNI is in this race to win,” adding that “the full strength and organization of The Believe Network, as well as other like-minded groups and affiliates are irreversibly behind him.”

They pledged that members would return to their communities as “committed ambassadors” of the group’s ideals and work with “discipline, focus and unity” toward achieving their 2027 political objectives.

The communiqué ended with a message of optimism: “We go forward together, under the banner of the All Progressives Congress, in the firm belief that the best days of Ogun State are ahead of us.”
