The Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ogun State chapter, has disclosed that an ongoing membership registration will get rid of bad eggs among Okada riders in the state.
The Ogun Chairman of ACOMORAN, Kayode Showunmi, who spoke with Eko Trust in Abeokuta, said the registration was part of efforts targeted at putting in place measures that would assist in easy identification, monitoring and tracking of eventualities, as well as assist in curbing crimes associated with commercial transportation in the state.
Showunmi noted that the restriction of motorcycle operations in neighbouring Lagos state has led to the influx of riders in the state thereby allowing hoodlums and criminal elements to penetrate into the state.
He noted that the registration, as initiated by the state ministry of transportation, would help in checkmating activities of riders in the state.
