The Ogun Police Command said it has arrested a 32-year-old man, Abdul-Azeez Haruna, for parading himself as a military officer at Sango Ota area of the state.
Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi, who disclosed this in a statement in Abeokuta, stated that the suspect was arrested yesterday afternoon at Ifesowapo Community of Ijako area in Sango Ota with full military camouflage uniform.
He said the suspect had been terrorizing the people of the area for quite some time before luck ran on him when he was caught removing a television set from the house of a resident of the community while in full army uniform.
The suspect confessed to being a fake soldier when he was taken before the military men.
Oyeyemi noted that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered the suspect be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
