The development came, even as 20 robbery, murder, cultism and ritual killing suspects were paraded by the Command. Among the suspects were four suspected cultists linked with the killing of a Police officer last week.

Addressing newsmen at the police headquarters, Eleweran, the police boss said the vehicles were recovered following the smashing of the syndicate that specialised in receiving stolen vehicles in Abeokuta.

 Argungu said some of the recovered vehicles had been repainted “into taxis and others into private use. But, following deep investigations, we are able to recover about 24 vehicles in all.

Two of the vehicles, the CP further hinted, were recovered from a gang of armed robbers in Abeokuta, the state capital on Sunday night. He pointed out that while one of the cars was snatched to escape, the other was the one they came with to rob in the town carrying Abuja plate number.
