The Ogun State Government said it has produced 200 female coders in the last three years to drive the digital technology revolution in the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Dayo Abiodun, during the 5th convocation ceremony of 43 Abocoders in Abeokuta, explained that the female coding classes was a collaboration between Ogun Bureau of Information Technology (BIT) and Aspillos Foundation, towards exposing women to income generation activities hidden in ICT.
He said the government was keen on making the state an Information Communication Technology (ICT) hub of Nigeria, noting that expertise in ICT would reduce unemployment amongst the women folk.
While presenting gifts of digital tablets to the top three most performing graduates, he admonished them to reciprocate the government’s investment on them by putting into use all they have learnt in a profitable way.
One of the graduates, Damilola Obisesan, appreciated the state government, saying training had equipped them in all areas of their lives.
