Towards this end, the ministry has revealed its readiness to stimulate increase in the production of both plants and animals, through the cultivation of farmlands.
It said has proposed to expend the sum of N4.690 billion this year to achieve its objective.
The Commissioner for Agriculture in the state Mrs. Ronke Sokefun said this while defending her ministry’s year 2015 budget at the House of Assembly, Oke – Mosan, Abeokuta.
Sokefun said the capital project in 2015 would gulp N4 billion, N690 million was earmarked for recurrent expenditure and the sum of N350 million was set as the revenue target for the fiscal year.
She said N11.9 million would be expended on purchase of agriculture equipment, just as another N108 million was set set aside for production of farm seedlings.
On its own part, the Ogun State Agriculture Development Corporation said it has proposed the sum of N181 million as its total budget for 2015, adding that N122 million was meant for capital projects, while N59 million would go for recurrent expenditure.
The agency also said it is expecting to generate N175 million for the fiscal year.
