They also frowned at the inability of government to pay salaries of workers in the state for November despite claims by the state government of hitting N6 billion Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state Comrade Ambali Akeem who addressed a news conference shortly after the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting in Abeokuta said records have shown that correspondences to the government by different labour bodies were not responded to.
Ambali who lamented the development, however absolved the governor, Ibikunle Amosun, of blame but however said there was need to raise the observation “as it is rubbing off on the relationship between the organised labour and the government.”
On the IGR, Ambali wondered “if the government as at last two weeks hinted that the IGR has hit N6bn, then, what is the rationale behind the non-payment of the November salary of some workers in the state?”
