Barrister Kamorudeen Ogunlana has assumed office as the 9th Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA) following the retirement of Sani Magaji Tambawal.

The handover ceremony, held at the National Assembly on Saturday evening, saw the outgoing CNA, Sani Magaji Tambawal, transfer the duties to Ogunlana in the presence of management staff and dignitaries.

In his brief address, Tambawal expressed his gratitude for the smooth transition and handed over the responsibility to Ogunlana.

The new CNA, Ogunlana, commended his predecessor for his exemplary leadership and achievements during his tenure.

Ogunlana emphasised the evolving role of the CNA, noting the significance of managing over 4,000 staff and 7,000 legislative aides, as well as the responsibility of coordinating visits by high-ranking officials, including the President of Nigeria.

He commended Tambawal for successfully navigating the complex dynamics of the National Assembly, particularly in hosting the President.

Ogunlana also acknowledged Tambawal’s leadership in grooming his successor, calling it a vital aspect of effective leadership.
