The Anglican Diocese of Ohaji/Egbema in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State penultimate Sunday added four additional deacons to the number of ordained deacons working in the diocese
Bishop Chidi Collins Oparaojiaku, in charge of the diocese, performed the ordination during the Trinity deaconate ordination church service held at the St Peters Cathedral headquarters Umuokanne-Ohaji.
The ordination service was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, including the deputy governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, former speaker Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, many functionaries of the state government, both serving and former among others.
The ordained deacons include Ord. Ugochukwu Chibuike Iregbu, Ord. Bennett Chizoba Agazue, Ord. Halleluya Chigoziem Aguocha,  and Ord. Godson Nlemchukwu Onukwugha.  Preaching a sermon to mark the ceremony,  the Anglican Bishop of Isimbano Diocese, Rt Rev. Godson Ukanwa, warned people of God to avoid having delight in wine and womanizing, in order to finish the race to eternity.
He reminded those ordained that any clergy that is not smart in his approach in the things of God may not finish his work in the ministry but would rather end up in bringing embarrassment to the ministry and the church.
The prelate said as new clergy in the ministry,  they must be prepared to pay attention to details. He regretted that churches these days suffer because of inanity of the operators to get details from the scripture
He decried a situation where many ministers of God abandon the teaching from the scripture and do things in their own way, adding that the true test of a real man of God is always seen in his reaction during fight.
According to him, the church today was looking for the real pastors that know God and can bring members together for fellowship in God.
Administering the ordination proper, the host Bishop RT Rev, Chidi Collins Oparaojiaku reminded them about the oath they have taken to serve God and humanity.
He said that they do not have alternative in their calling other than to serve God diligently and wholeheartedly,  while appealing to members to give them support through prayers and also advised  them to ensure success in their ministry.
In his word of advise,  the deputy governor of Imo State, Madumere, stressed the need for people to always support the church of God for it to grow.
He extolled the monumental achievements so far recorded by the diocese since its inception through the Bishop and admonished members never to relent in their support
The deputy governor urged  the new deacons to uphold the good characters in them for which they were ordained as apostles.
