Okadigbo’s estate: Ex-Senate President’s sons to appeal judgement

The ex-senate president’s eldest son Chaka and his brother Osagyefo are asking the court to amend the letters of administration granted the wife, Lady Margery and his other son, Pharoah and to render account of the estate.
In her judgement last week, Justice Folashade Ojo upheld the submission of Margery’s counsel Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN) that the motion before the court was improper. She also refused the application on the grounds that the applicants did not disclose the lists of estates for which accounts are to be rendered.
Counsel to Chaka, Ayo Kusamotu said yesterday, “We are not satisfied with this judgment. We have applied for the judgement. As soon as it is out, we shall be proceeding to the Appeal Court.”
Chaka had averred that Lady Margery, now a senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, had failed to render account for the funds accruing from the late senate President’s “bank accounts, stocks, shares in companies and royalty from published books and other properties”.
In her defence, Margery argued that the action before the court is improper adding that there was a letter from Chaka, who resides in the USA, authorizing his younger brother, Pharoah to commence the process of obtaining a power of attorney.
