Okon remains union’s president, Bola still expelled – ASCSN

The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria has reiterated that Commarde Tommy Etim Okon PhD, remains the national president of the association while former president of the union, Bola Audu remains expelled pending his suit at the National Industrial Court.

 

ASCSN, in a communique signed by chairmen of the association in the MDAs in Abuja on Thursday, it advised the expelled president to not to take laws into his hand as he await for the outcome of his suit pending at the Industrial Court Abuja wherein he is challenging his expulsion as a member of the ASCSN.

 

Recall, Bola-Audu and three others were on Tuesday discharged and acquitted by Justice Charles Agbaza, of human trafficking charges.

 

In 2021, Bola-Audu and three others were arraigned in a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Maitama, Abuja, by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons for human trafficking and exploitation of vulnerable persons (NAPTIP) and thereafter expelled for anti-union activities. ASCSN maintained that the outcome of the prosecution of Bola Audu and three others by NAPTIP has no effect whatsoever on the association as the union was not a party to the court process.

 

“That letter should be written to the Inspector-General of Police to invite his urgent attention to the pending cases of criminal impersonation, diversion of funds. Falsification of documents against Bola Audu at the FCT police command.

 

“That members of the association know that their national president is Comrade Tommy Etim Okon, PhD and that Bola Audu remains expelled from the union.’’
