Nigeria need to win in Antananarivo to keep alive their qualification hopes for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations and Olympic internationals Class of 2008 Okoronkwo and Obasi have seriously staked claims for first-team shirts in this star-studded Super Eagles.

Super Eagles assistant coach Simon Kalika has expressed satisfaction with the commitment and form of the players in training in Madagascar ahead of the make or mar Nations Cup qualifier.

Kalika praised Aalesunds of Norway striker Okoronkwo for being the surprise player in the team with his new-found form in training which he tagged as “great”, while hailing Hoffenheim striker and returnee Obasi for integrating well in the team as well as showing good form.

“Surprisingly for everyone but not a surprise for the technical crew any way, Solomon Okoronkwo is doing very well,” Kalika told MTNFootball.com from his hotel room in Madagascar.
