The philanthropist was recently made a United Nations youth Ambassador for Peace. Okowa is joining top celebrities who have been conferred with the title.

As Okowa was presented with his certificate last week, he expressed his joy and said he was grateful that his contributions to the society and the music industry in particular are being recognized.

Recipients of the award otherwise known as Messengers of the Peace are required to volunteer their time, talent and passion to raise awareness about the United Nations’ efforts aimed at improving and impacting the lives of billions of people across the globe.

The Messengers of Peace through public appearances, contact with international media and humanitarian works help to expand understanding of how the ideals and objectives of the organization demands everyone’s attention.
