Human rights lawyer and aspirant for the Edo State House of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Victor Giwa, has commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for what he described as improved security in Uloshi Community, Esan South East Local Government Area of the state.

Giwa also called on residents of the community to continue supporting the efforts of the government and security agencies toward maintaining a safer environment.

According to him, the people of Uloshi Community, alongside himself, appreciate the governor’s commitment to addressing security challenges across the state.

“I, Barrister Victor Giwa, an APC aspirant for the Edo State House of Assembly, Esan South East Constituency, highly commend His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo, for his handling of security matters in the state, particularly amid reports of kidnapping and banditry in neighbouring states and other parts of the federation.

“We strongly commend His Excellency for the support he has provided to security agencies in the state and for encouraging residents to work closely with security operatives by providing useful information and intelligence to help prevent security breaches in communities across Edo State.

“‘Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.’ We therefore urge His Excellency to sustain and strengthen ongoing efforts aimed at reducing insecurity to the barest minimum.

“As part of measures to further enhance security in the state, there is a need to establish an Edo State Security Endowment and Intervention Fund (ESSEIF). Such a fund would provide accessible financing for security and paramilitary agencies, support the provision of critical facilities, boost human resources, and strengthen intelligence gathering in the protection of lives and property.

“‘Edo is Safe’ should be our collective slogan throughout the tenure of His Excellency,” he said.
