Governor Monday Okpenholo of Edo State has described the Supreme Court judgement affirming his election as a call for greater service and unity in the state.

He charged Asue Ighodalo, other opponents and members of the opposition to join hands with him, saying “elections are over and the real work of governance and healing must begin”.

Reacting to the judgement, Okpebholo said the judgement reaffirmed the mandate freely given to him by the people of Edo State.

“It signals the beginning of a fresh chapter rooted in unity, inclusiveness, and accelerated development,” he said.

He also described the judgement as a shared triumph for every Edo citizen, regardless of political, ethnic, or religious affiliation.

While assuring of leading with humility, compassion, and accountability, Okpebholo restated his administration commitment to its developmental blueprint, prioritizing security, infrastructure, education, agriculture, healthcare, youth empowerment, and job creation.

He said his focus as a governor was to deliver tangible benefits that uplift lives and restore confidence in public leadership.

Okpebholo, who urged political leaders across party lines to rise above division and contribute constructively to the task of building a greater Edo State, said constructive criticism and diverse perspectives rooted in a sincere desire to see Edo thrive will always be welcomed.
