She left without bothering about the money for the job and she continued life in that fashion without bothering about anything in life except making people around you happy and comfortable.
It took some of her customers a year or more to pay for her services.
Taibat was a professional to the core with uncommon creative abilities. She became our family photographer. No family members could be satisfied with his or her occasion without your presence to showcase your creative ability and keeping memories alive in pictures afterwards.
The entire Folorunsho family became fond of you, and eventually, the fondness blossomed into marriage with a member of the family.
You went ahead to honour whoever invited you to take pictures at all the family’s event.
It came to pass that your inner beauty was more than your creativity. We all love you in my family.
At a point, you distanced yourself from us for the fear of how the family would receive you at the hearing of your relationship with my brother.
You got the highest number of the family members in attendance on the day of your marriage with my brother.
Even though it was a low key event, majority of the family members left their work to attend your wedding.
Their attendance was connected to your husband’s relationship and attitude to everybody in the family, but all of them later confirmed that they never regretted to be part of your special day.
You joined the family in February this year and we were all looking forward to when you would have a baby for us. Luckily, God answered your prayers and you got pregnant.
We prayed God for your safe delivery but unfortunately, that was not to be.
Ola, you became part of the family a good woman with good character, industrious and above all, an ideal Muslim wife.
You redefined relationships between in-laws. You kept the memory of our late grandmother alive because you shared one of your names with her, which is Ajike.
You used your photographic creativity to produce an enlarged photograph of her and her hubby which some of your colleagues had earlier turned down to do for us.
Symbolically, you took your mother in-law as the first wife of your husband.
You loved her like your own mother, always wrapping yourself around her and she always walked up to meet her meals beside her.
At the mention of our grand mum’s name and what she used to prepare for us in days past, even if your husband was kidding, once you sneaked out of the house, you always returned with such thing to satisfy us.
When one of my sisters called on Saturday night that you had been delivered of a baby, but still bleeding, I was thrown into a state of confusion.
I and your ‘small’ husband (Alfa Musa, our mum’s last born) left the food we were eating. Musa went to perform ablution and started praying for your safety and I started reciting the little prayers I could remember.
Calls started coming in from everybody. You threw all of us into confusion, your lovely daughter which I named after you were abandoned just to save you. Your hubby lost the strength and voice to talk to me but directed me to my sister who was with you at the hospital.
While I was engrossed in prayers for you, the bombshell was dropped on me that you had passed away.
My little son, Muhammad Musharraf went straight to sleep when he saw the state of confusion on our faces. He fondly called you Iyawo wa oo (wife come o).
We all tried to fight our tears back but we could not. We all take solace in the fact that the short period you spent with us was worthwhile. Your definition of your relationship with us kept us strong and the lovely angel you replaced yourself with gave us the hope that you are still very much with us.
Your darling husband, Arch. Abdullahi Babatunde Folorunsho, our mum (maami as you fondly called her) Alfa Musa, your little angel, the entire Folorunsho Faagba’s family, your other two kids, your parents, Muhammad Musharraf and myself miss you greatly.
Taibat Ajike Abdullahi Folorunsho, the best wife I have met, Adieu. May Almighty Allah reward you with paradise. From Allah we came and to Allah is our ultimate return.
