Malama Adama Balla, chairperson of the group, while flagging-off the campaign in Gomari last week, said the association is spearheading the campaign in order to improve routine immunization that would drastically reduce the effects of the disease on humans.

According to her, immunization is the only way through which the health of any child can be guaranteed. She therefore appealed to mothers to cooperate with health officials during a house-to-house immunization campaign and take vaccinations against the killer disease serious, since no parent would like to see his or her child paralysed.

Adama added that the association is receiving support from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), and that similar campaigns will be held in seven local government areas of the state, including Jere and Mafa Local Government Areas.
