He made this known at a concert that held in the nation’s capital city recently where he performed alongside another music maestro, Paul I.K. Dairo and the gospel group, Tequila Group. He said that the opposition he faced in the making of the song paled when he considered the impact that the song ultimately made in many marriages. “The ring tone of Olomi, you will agree with me, is one of the most widely-used mobile phone ringtones amongst couples today. The married ones are not left out too.

“The track was an inspiration from God and such inspirations only come once in a lifetime. The song has given a new perspective to the issue of love. It shows love not as an immoral thing that many see it as today. It projects love as divine and something worth celebrating, not just once in a while, but always. I have prayed that God should give me the inspiration to write another song like ‘Olomi’, but till date, that same inspiration that birthed the song has not come to me,” he said.

The track hit the air waves a few years ago, and till date, it is regarded as one of the few songs such as TuFace Idibia’s ‘African  Queen,’ which has held music fans enraptured and received mass appeal from Nigerians of all walks of life. The youthful singer, however, revealed the challenges he went through before the song could be released. “My closest friends and associates, especially those from the church, turned their backs against me when I told them what the song was all about before I eventually produced it.

“Many that I informed about the song especially those in church thought I was projecting immorality. While some had the courage to tell me to my face, others simply stopped communicating with me. The painful thing about it is that the opposition came from those that were actually close to me. But today, many of them have come back to me after seeing the success of the track,” he noted.

He also took time to debunk the notion in some quarters that he is an artiste that is Southern in orientation. He said that, “I grew up and had my secondary education in the North; I schooled in one of the government schools in the FCT. I have spent quite a period of time in the North. I love the North and will always do because that is where my career started. Even the importance of the North is reflected in the prophecies recorded by great prophets in the scriptures. Presently, I spend most of my time in Abuja except when I have projects to undertake in other parts of the country,” he said.

The artiste also took time to thank all those that stood by him in prayers and support when he lost his child last year. He said he has survived that period of his life and come out the better for it. He also confided that he is at present expecting another joyful bundle from his wife who is on vacation abroad. He promised his numerous fans that he will be releasing a series of other inspirational songs soon.
