The Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has commended the governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, for appointing a Yoruba man, Mr Adebayo Oyeyinka, as a permanent secretary in the state civil service. Oluwo, in a statement on Monday by his press secretary, described the governor as an exposed and detribalized Nigerian whose conducts had further cemented the unity and oneness of the country.

The monarch called on other leaders to emulate the unification gestures of Governor Soludo dedicated to strengthening the nation’s unity.

He asked the federal government to allow Nigerians, irrespective of their tribes, to use the certificate of origin of wherever they reside, saying that would “cement our togetherness.”

He stated: “I’m impressed with the appointment of a Yoruba man, Mr. Adebayo Oyeyinka, as Permanent Secretary at the Anambra State civil service. The governor of Anambra State, Prod. Chukwuma Soludo, has demonstrated his exposure and convinced us to be a detribalized Nigerian leader.”

“He has made a remarkable history similar to Lagos State when the current President Ahmed Tinubu was the governor of the state. Only an exposed leader who values and celebrates meritocracy does that. This steps is a further assurance of a better Nigeria.”
