If it was in the days of the cowboys, Omar Mateen, the alleged Orlando nightclub killer, will proudly be called the fastest gun in the West. For singlehandedly shooting 103 people, almost half of them fatally, he certainly proved himself a great marksman. In this day and age, when a single shot can attract law enforcers, especially in the First World, it is indeed amazing that Mateen committed the massacre he did, without the aid of a machine gun, undisturbed.
These were the thoughts that plagued my mind when I first heard about the Orlando shooting. Obviously, I am only one of numerous others, who think the incident sounds like another manufactured terrorism tale.
