The recent ban on indiscriminate display of bill boards and banners as well as pasting of campaign posters in Katsina State is a welcome development.

Prior to this order, the state capital was littered with banners, billboards and posters, placed everywhere including on the middle of roads, walkways, on electricity poles and public buildings.

Thousands of our youths abandoned menial jobs and started working for politicians by pasting their posters and banners for stipends.

With the clearing of all the illegal billboards, banners and posters on the major roads, the state capital now wears a new look.

Although, politicians in opposition will see this action as targeted at certain persons, I insist that the development is good for the state.
