For sometime now, the relationship between the legislature and executive has been frosty. It appears some members of the Assembly are not willing to embrace change; they want things to continue as they were in the past.  So many things going on in the country do not add up.   For example while the Senate President is being accused of arming some people with weapons,  the same  National Assembly is calling on  the president to curtail the killing of Nigerians. 

 Also, while other Nigerians are being arraigned for one offence or the other, National Assembly members are busy defending and escorting their colleagues with similar cases to courts. 

This lawmakers attitude appears as if the National Assembly members want the status quo maintained; where the president will be dishing out instructions to courts and security agencies in their favour in total disregard of the oath he took. 

 The Nigeria youth are very much aware of when the budget was sent to the National Assembly and when it was passed. 

The president should be allowed free hand to handle the affairs of the nation based on constitutional provisions. 

The two parties must see themselves as partners not to cover one another’s misdeeds but to work for the development of the people and country.
