It is unfortunate that the Niger State government is being less than truthful with the public concerning the way it dealt with the former inhabitants of Darul Islam in the state. While it claimed that it has compensated them with N77 million, it turns out from the members that it is not true. First of all, displacing the people of Darul Islam is a great injustice that needs to be reversed. This is not something that compensation can rectify. But the Niger State government refused to listen to all counsels and went ahead to evict them. What will a mere compensation do now? Nothing!
