On dualisation of Abuja-Lokoja Road

The Abuja-Lokoja road has been described as the most dangerous road in the country. This is true when one considers how the road claims the lives of many Nigerian travellers who ply it on a daily basis to meet their needs. The road happens to be the link to the southern and northern part of the country.

During festive periods, the number of man hours spent on the road from gridlock is sad; hence every measure must be taken to ensure the early completion of the road.

Also, the supervising ministry responsible for the road and the various committee of the National Assembly involved in oversight functions should form a synergy to look into various complains arising from compensation to various communities along the area that would be affected with the dualisation to avoid a situation where those communities will refused to cooperate with the contractor handling the projects.

The tireless efforts of both the Kogi State House of Assembly and the state government in drawing the attention of the federal government to speed up action on the roads needs commendation.

The road that was supposed to be completed in three years time is now been dragged over a long period of time, thus resulting in avoidable lost of lives on daily basis.
