The action will to my mind reduce the menace of fake drug manufacturers in the country. The DG, Dr. Paul Orhii in a paper presented at the Golden Jubilee Business Summit held in London to mark Nigeria’s 50th independence anniversary, also disclosed that the cash reward for any informant who provides intelligence information to the agency leading to the arrest of a fake drug importer is now N300,000. Media reports also say the DG is seeking introduction of compensatory system whereby assets of convicted counterfeit drug offenders are sold and proceeds used to compensate victims of fake drug.

All these efforts by the agency if properly implemented will discourage would-be fake drug manufacturers. My prayer is that Nigerians should assist in this fight against counterfeiters whose activities had sent many Nigerians to their early graves.
