On nPDP’s ultimatum to APC leadership

Last week Abubakar Kawu Baraje and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the former National Chairman and Secretary of the defunct nPDP, wrote a letter to the APC national leadership complaining of marginalization by the APC government. The two men purporting to speak for nPDP gave the APC leadership and its government led by President Muhammadu Buhari seven days to look into their grievances with a view of redressing them.
Before the expiration of the ultimatum however nPDP, speaking through Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, a former Governor of Nasarawa state in a press conference in Abuja, disassociated itself from the letter signed by Abubakar Kawu Baraje and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, pointing out that the last time nPDP met was in 2014 and so couldn’t have issued the letter ascribed to it.
What the nPDP, speaking through Abdullahi Adamu, has done is to give the lie to Baraje and Olagunsoye that the two men do not represent the nPDP and therefore are frauds, mischief peddlers and impostors working for themselves and their paymasters outside the APC. They are agents of disinformation and destabilization out to cause disaffection within the ranks of the APC.
It is difficult to see how a group that broke away from another party to form a new party running away with the Senate Presidency, Speaker of the House of Representatives and several other leadership positions in the national assembly, Governorship of Sokoto, Kebbi, Adamawa, Kano, Kwara can outside greed and mischief peddling, outside disinformation and destabilization, claim to be marginalized by the party that gave it all these positions. The timing of writing this letter further points to mischief, disinformation and destabilization being drivers of the letter.
Elections are around the corner and those in the so-called third force are up in arms to decimate the APC, pull out some of its blocks by theft or subterfuge to build the new house they are struggling to build without the necessary blocks. But they will fail because of the tortoise and foxy manner they are proceeding. The jackal is always there to expose the chicanery and perfidy of the tortoise and the fox.
Going back to the PDP days, what was Bukola Saraki in the Senate? Who is he today in the Senate under the APC led government? What was Yakubu Dogara in the House of Reps? What is he today? What was Bindow? What is he today? What was Tambuwal? What is he today? What was Ganduje? What is he today? I can go on and on without exhausting the list of members of the nPDP APC has shored up their fortunes. In the face of these facts, a cry of marginalization by the nPDP would not only ring hollow and untenable, but smack of little farmer’s type of greed that in trying to swallow everything spells doom both for the greedy person and his community.
By the way, Olagunsoye had since left APC and banded together with Obasanjo’s coalition. He had since answered the call of the fallen angel and has been roaming the nether regions as a lost soul without a home; what is he still sneaking back into the APC to do? Abdullahi Adamu and his associates have just shown they are such gatekeepers that are awake. If as a prodigal son, APC is a forgiving and generous father that will always welcome back home its prodigal sons that life outside home has taught bitter lessons.
