Shortage of potable drinking water is one of the major challenges bedevilling the people of Katsina State. The existing water facilities are too inadequate to serve the ever-growing population of the state. It is in view of this the incumbent governor of Katsina State Aminu Bello Masari promised to make water supply a priority, to cushion the hardship being experience by the people. The recent completion of repairs and overhauling of the once-dilapidated Malumfashi Water Treatment plant by the state government not only gives new lease of life to Malumfashi, but underscores the determination of the governor to overcome the water problems of the state.
