On the clash between Zamfara political titans

The PDP secretary was quoted as saying that there is no crack in the PDP of Zamfara. What a wonderful statement! Because every one in Zamfara State knows that there is a crack in the PDP. This is not something that is hidden. As a matter of fact there is the Old PDP and the New PDP. The Old PDP is divided into two camps, namely General Ali Gusau boys like Alh. Namadi Ango, Alh. Bello Usman Tafida (Bello 1010) and others and that of Malam Yahaya Abdulkarim boys like Alhaji Sule Leda, Barr. Adamu Umar and others. The new PDP has Mamuda boys like Ibrahim Mallaha, Musa Zubairu and others. At the moment, there is a court case which is still pending till the 9th   of March, 2010 on the issue of chairmanship of Zamfara State PDP because Mallaha is claiming he is the chairman of the party in the state while Namadi Ango is also claiming the same position. Two chairmen in the same party at the same time and we are told there is no crack in the party. This must be a joke!

Secondly, the Zamfara PDP secretary said even if Hon. Abdulaziz Yari is eventually nominated as the ANPP flag bearer for governor of Zamfara State in 2011, the PDP will go home and sleep without campaigning much. Really? The PDP secretary and all those that share that belief should listen:  If really Hon. Abdulaziz emerges as the ANPP flag bearer Musa Zubairu and his cohorts will have sleepless nights and at the end of the day PDP will lose in the contest. Whosoever is nominated by the ANPP will defeat the PDP candidate in Zamfara State because the people of  our dear state are tired and have been disenchanted with the PDP not just at the moment but right since its existence in 1999 because of the calibre of people involved with the party. I would suggest a challenge to the Zamfara PDP executives to nominate Musa Zubairu for governor in 2011 and for the ANPP to nominate Hon. Abdulaziz Yari for governor and see if Zubairu will make it, since he claims he knows Hon. Yari as a not serious contender. Even if a contest is to be held at the family level, Zubairu cannot make it because his brother Hon. Dahiru Zubairu is a Member of the House of Representatives under the platform of the ANPP. It is a fact that ANPP would come out stronger in 2011 and beyond the election. ANPP defeated PDP in 1999, 2003 and 2007 and it is the same set of people that are still in the ANPP today. Yarima is still the same Yarima who is the nightmare of the PDP stalwarts in Zamfara. It is a known fact that PDP’s henchmen cannot stand the ANPP train; the ANPP is tactical and have many political tricks in their kitty that are within the ambits of the law, something which their PDP opponents cannot comprehend. ANPP is a united force which is devoid of the kind of crisis that is common with the PDP; they are equal to the task and are ready to face any opponent based on the track record of the party in the state.

As an indication of his popularity, when last week Hon. Yari visited Gusau, Anka and Mafara, the mammoth crowd that come out and welcomed him was astounding. The peace lover he is, he spoke on the reconciliation between Alhaji Shinkafi, the incumbent governor and the former governor Senator Yarima. It is obvious that Shinkafi is a good man but for the sycophants surrounding him. The PDP secretary gives the indication that he does not believe in the reconciliation of the two men, thus his absurd statement that they are enemies for life. Is he serious? He has to be very careful on what he says because Allah rewards those that make an attempt at reconciliation between two persons. Yarima is not an enemy to Shinkafi and neither is Shinkafi an enemy to Yarima. When did they become enemies if I may ask?
