he recent killing of innocent people in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State is very sad indeed.   It is sad that lives are being lost almost on a daily basis across the country.

The innocent unarmed citizens were killed by unknown gunmen. Initially it was gathered that 66 persons were killed but at the last count, they were 133. It was reported that some arrests have been made. I urge the government to ensure that all those arrested are duly prosecuted and punished accordingly. That is the only way to prevent others from engaging in such in future.

Governor Nasir El-rufai needs to be commended and celebrated for his

efforts in resolving the crisis and preventing it from degenerating. As a matter of urgency, the Kaduna State government needs to collaborate with the federal government to tackle crises in the state. Many people have fled the community to seek succour in other towns; the government should also look into their flight and provide assistance.
