The killing of the cleric, Sheikh Goni Aisami, is indeed a bad commentary on this nation. A situation where a soldier, trained and entrusted with the duty to protect lives and property turns around to take that same life, leaves much to be desired.
It is indeed sad that while the country is in dire need of young able-bodied men to pursue the onslaught against insecurity, the duo of Adamu Gideon and John Gabriel decided to toe the path of criminality, dishonesty and dishonour.
It is good that the military authorities dismissed the soldiers. I hope that the men are prosecuted and made to face the full wrath of the law. The military should also fish out all the bad eggs so that they do not corrupt others.
