You missed the path where cautious soldiers fired intermittently at the device before the bomb detonator went with his blank metal wand and mobile police polo shirt. 08033499386

Just read your column. It’s the long and short of the Nigerian story. How can we make our country worth dying for? I wish President Jonathan, the IGP, Minister of Police Affairs etc, will read your column on this subject. Keep it up.

Bukky. 08065707087

On late Sgt. Badang, you said it all. May God reward you for the wonderful piece.  I hope the IGP read it.

Simon, Jos. 08063385584

A hero really! Maybe we watched a different video of a person who walked to his death; not properly dressed to dispose bomb. His metal detector beeped, he slung his gun around his neck, put the detector between his legs and got killed. Haba, Garba! That was suicide mission plain and simple.

Garbadeen, your write up about Nigerian heroes is special. Sgt. Badang must be honoured and his children given scholarship. He died that others may live. 08037186329

May God bless you for that article on Sgt. Badang. Our ogas only know how to play to the gallery. Please, ask them why, when members of the armed forces die in active service, they get heroes burial, but not the police. Tell the IGP, if we get half of what other services get, the force will be better. Sufficient equipment, fuel for our patrol vehicles and good pay will make a difference. That is why when we go out for peace keeping we perform excellently.

Thank you for the article on Sgt. Badang. Badang was a tragic hero and not a glory-seeker, as some wicked minds think. Is our government serious at all? You send an unprotected man to defuse a bomb? How much do remote-controlled bomb defusing robots cost and how much do new jeeps for senators cost?

A.V. Elumelu. 08037004085.

Garbadeen Muhammed, the nation owes Mr Badang and his family everything.

Inyang. 07025311822

There are many Sgt. Badangs in the Nigeria Police Force, but nobody cares about them.  08032709114

Nigeria Police is a real problem to Nigerians. I pity the new IGP. The policemen in my area at Ago Okota have refused to go despite the order by the IG. Give us limited power to arrest them here in Lagos or give us hotline to report them.

On new vehicle number plates, the senate and the FRSC

Don’t blame Chidoka and his FRSC, but the state governors who do not know that all road taxes, including levies on plate numbers and drivers’ license are state affairs.

Sam, Jos. 08036953327

What has FRSC discussion got to do with Dora Akunyili? You’re one of those who feast on people in public service. 08035989635

Barkbyte, the issue is long overdue. I was once arrested for, as they claim, fake PNS. I was wondering how come a PN bought from MLO with other vehicle particulars and supplied by FRSC could be fake? I am happy the matter is receiving the attention of the Senate. 08033124814

Representative democracy will yield the optimal benefit when our leaders purge themselves of greed. I salute the Senate.

Dickson OGB. 08135798446

The truth is that what the FRSC wanted to do would affect the bourgeois class which the senators belong to, they are only protecting their interest.

Amos Ejimonye. 08039727512.

Thank you, Mohammed. You didn’t mention that the position of the senators who overwhelmed David Mark else he could have ruled that vehicles are not for everybody. For a shameless, unpatriotic Chidoka, he wants to amass wealth to prosecute his governorship ambition. 08035024172

Your article makes for interesting reading. I agree with most of the issues you raised. However, I beg to disagree on your comparison of Akunyili with Chidoka. Akunyili made a visible difference at NAFDAC. As for her not winning elections, I ask: how many good men win elections in Nigeria? We are in our present mess because the bulk of “winners” of elections have been the worst, those who know how to manipulate the system. 08036345242

To associate Dora Akunyili with deceit is the height of hypocrisy.

Dear BarkByte, I read your “The Senate vs The FRSC”. Like all your articles,  it was well written and in good prose. All you said about the senators is true, especially Senator Smart Adeyemi. The only thing I did not understand is what brought Prof. Akunyili into the matter? Please, I’m not defending her, but she is an achiever and would have done well in the Senate. Anyhow, continue your weekly write up on issues and forget about personalities. Thanks and God bless.

Moshood Raji. 08037869537.

Garba, why are you so partial. Has the South-East wronged you? How does the issue of FRSC connect with Dora’s political ambitions?

08064493200.

Thank you for your BarkByte on Senate proceedings on the FRSC and new vehicle license. We hope our senators will not be sedated like the House of Representatives and be so incapacitated that their decisions will not be obeyed.

Dr. Dare Owolabi, Akure. 08036082786

BarkByte, yours on today, March 4, made good reading. But can’t you find a better heading or stop attacking and insulting world class achievers?

Buike, Abuja. 08055353766

Hello, Malam Garba. I know for sure Idris Awaisu Kuta has passed away, but Dahiru Awaisu Kuta is the serving senator for South- East. Awwal, Minna. 08029102706

(I stand corrected, Garba Deen Muahammad).

Thanks for your piece the above. The question is: What of those of us that have already purchased the plates and license, how would they refund us? 07083911579

Chidoka, eat your law.
