The Ona of Abaji and Chairman of the FCT Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, has appealed to the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, to consider the indigenes of the territory for the agency’s scholarship scheme.
Alhaji Yunusa, made the request when he paid a courtesy call on the Pantami at the agency’s headquarters last Thursday in Abuja.
He also commended the leadership of the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
He said informed the NITDA DG that was at the agency’s headquarters to explore possible areas of collaboration, which he said was aimed at deepening the growth of ICT in the various FCT Councils.
In his response, the Director General of NITDA, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, thanked the traditional for the commendation, stressing that it is a motivation for him to do more.
Dr Pantami said that “there is no discrimination in NITDA, FCT is considered as a state”, adding that the Agency’s Scholarship Scheme and intervention projects are in line with the principles of federal character.
