Mr. Obafemi Oluwale Onashile Saturday night emerged the new President of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS).
Onashile was sworn in alongside eight other members of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Institute the end of the professional body’s Biennial Election and General Meeting (BEGM) which held in Abuja between November 14 and 18.
The new NIQS President, 53, is an accomplished and resourceful consultant Quantity Surveyor succeeds Mercy Torkwase Iyortyer whose two year term of office expired on Saturday.
The Institute had earlier adopted him as its President-in-Waiting following his election as Deputy President at its BEGM held in Lagos in 2015.
Onashile, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FNIQS) holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Quantity Surveying from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and a Master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Lagos.
