Jegede, while fielding questions from the newsmen in Akure, said “Nigeria is yet to witness political, economical and social transformation due to poor values of the people and leadership problem.

“We have the misfortune of having citizens and leaders who have no lofty dream of leaving the country better that they met her. Many of the people in the helms of affairs are corrupt. There is wanton abuse of official position and corrupt enrichment.” He lamented the Nigeria situation whereby any talk of probity and uprightness in public life is regarded as a mere academic exercise.

It will be recalled that the Attorney General, at a public lecture, had recommended a recipe for actualizing Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Vision 20:2020 in the country.

Jegede stated “if Nigerians must get to the Eldorado in 2020, the leadership and people must begin to appreciate the worth of human capital.
