The Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives Services, Mr. Clement Faboyede while commissioning the phase two of Quick Win community projects last week in Owo attributed the rapid transformation to the caring of Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

Faboyede in company of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives Services, Mrs. Kosemani Kolawole visited about 26 project sites where he laid the foundations of some projects and inspected others under construction such as Isuada Basic Health Centre, Osabiya Mono Pump Bore Hole and Ago Alao Basic Health Centre.

He explained that about 75 percent of the people live in rural areas, hence; he said the government deemed it fit to meet the community and asked them what they needed in order to meet them at the point of their needs.

Faboyede said about 18 completed projects were scattered over the three senatorial districts of the state while 36 had been flagged off,the transformation of the rural communities he said was aimed at checking rural-urban drift.

The state government, he said, would spend about N2.7bn to carry out various projects in over 300 rural communities in the state next year.

“What we are doing presently in Owo, Ifedore and Odigbo Local Government Areas, are pilot schemes to enable others to adjust. The implementation of the projects will start on January 15 next year in all the local council areas,” he added.
