The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command has paraded four suspects for offences ranging from rape, child defilement and stealing of motorcycle.
A statement by its Public Relations Officer, DSC Olufemi Omole, said 29-year-old Oke Adebomi was arrested at Adegoroye street in the Oshinle area of Akure for raping a four-year-old girl.
He said the men of the command saved the suspect from mob action.
The command also said that a 13-year-old girl was gang-raped by Oluwadare Olawale and Suraju, who both hail from Ilepa, Ikare Akoko in Ondo State.
The victim (name withheld) was said to have been lured, abducted to a private apartment and the two suspects took turns in raping her.
While Suraju is said to still be at large, Olawale was paraded.
“Intelligence personnel are on his trail. Oluwadare Olawale, however, confessed to the crime blaming it on the devil,” he said.
The command also said it arrested one suspect, Aanu Jimoh with a Boxer Motorcycle, which he confessed to have stolen from the Palace of Olowo.
Parading the suspects, the State Commandant, Hammed Abodunrin lamented the increasing cases of defilement of minors, rape, sexual gender-based violence amongst others despite the continuous sensitisation and campaign against such inhuman practices in the society.
