Presenting the promotion letters to the beneficiaries on Tuesday, the state Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, said the gesture was one of his political promises for deserving workers.
Mimiko, represented by Dr Rotimi Adelola, the Secretary to the State Government, said the staff were promoted to appreciate their selfless and dedicated services.
The governor advised the beneficiaries to reciprocate the kind gesture by contributing their best toward uplifting education in the state.
Dr Bakkita Bello, the chairman of the commission, in his speech, commended Mimiko for approving the promotion, adding that it was borne out of love to the teachers.
He urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by working hard to improve students’ performance.
The Chairman, Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Chief Abimbola Omolaja, commended the state government for the effort.
Omolaja, however, urged the government to renovate dilapidated classrooms in the state to ensure conducive learning atmosphere.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr Ogeleyinbo Akinolu from Arere Grammar School, Ode Irele, thanked the governor for the gesture, saying that the promotion would motivate him to work harder.
Similarly, Mrs. Akintoye Tomisin, another beneficiary, expressed delight for the promotion, saying that it would spur her to be more dedicated and committed to her duty. (NAN)
